WOW Anonymous – The First Steps for Recovery

Welcome to World of Warcraft Anonymous

Step 1: Recognize that World of Warcraft can cause addictions and you are not alone. Choose a member name – this can be your real name or you can choose to talk about your addiction in secret

Step 2: Identify your problem(s) with WoW

Step 3: Find others who have the same addiction problems as you.

Step4: Talk those who most closely relate to your addiction and began to find what causes your own addiction

Step5: STOP PLAYING! Simple, yet the most difficult part.

  1. WoW consumes lives. It’s bad. Like, really really.. bad. My brother-in-law sits downstairs in my basement where he has his room and has 3 computers set up at the same time where he plays WoW all day long. He has an overnight position at a state run facility where he basically watches kids sleep and makes sure nothing happens, and he brings his laptop where WoW is also set up and he plays again at work. He wakes and plays, works and plays and plays in between these times…. he’s thoroughly addicted.

  2. my dad is seriously addicted to this game its pretty much the same as the person above or below said. its really sad and i wish he could relize that he really does have a problem
